Andromeda

supporting the PIPE concept

Now with 390 channels, OPUS and FLAC

ANDROMEDA is the flagship product of MAYAH for universal audio transmission systems. With the appearance of a small 2 RU high 19” heatpipe cooled device it offers 390 (three hundred and ninty) channels for sending or receiving audio. Besides OPUS, FLAC and AES67, it it a universal audio codec transmission system connecting classic codec applications with routing, mixing, recording and live requirements.

Cool Heatpipe Concept

Forced Cooling is the Past

Pipes

All of our current generation of products employ heatpipes for passive, silent cooling. No loud fans to bother you while working in your studio, OB vehicle or at home.

Such heat pipes work by taking advantage of thermal conductivity. The sections of the pipe closest to the hot parts of the device are heated up as the heat from the device is transferred to the pipe. A liquid inside the pipe is turned into vapor through contact with the hot surface of the pipe. After traveling along the pipe the vapor then condenses back into a liquid once it reaches the colder parts of the pipe and so releases the heat stored inside it. This cycles then starts anew, continually cooling the hot parts of the pipe by transferring the heat to the liquid, which then turns to vapor. Unlike a fan this process is essentially silent. This is a huge advantage for the broadcasting scene.

Encryption and VPN

hidden...

Our products allow you to use encryption to protect your data transmissions, making them inaccessible to third parties. This new feature is of interest to customers that are worried about the security of their audio transmissions and recordings as well as those in the security sector, who simply cannot allow their transmissions to be compromised.

Encryption is about encoding information or messages so that only people with the means to decode them are able to read them. When unauthorized parties somehow read the transmission they will not be able to understand anything. Your transmissions stay as safe as they should be!

For a long time this was not realistically feasible because encryption added a significant amount of latency, unsurprising given the additional processing required for the encryption and decryption of the data. However, we have successfully solved the issue now. More...

For this purpose we take advantage of a variety of encryption features, including symmetric key encryption, hashing and PGP.

Furthermore, we now offer VPN connections for even more security! A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a private network within a public network (e.g. the internet). Users within a VPN can send and receive data as if their devices were directly connected in a single private network. All of these increase the security of sent and received data, as it becomes harder for third parties to access the traffic within the VPN.

Pipe Concept

Based on the most up-to-date approach to user software, the remote control of ANDROMEDA supports a customizable Dashboard, the new MAYAH PIPE-concept, as well as extensive set of quality-of-life improvements all packaged in a stylish and modern user interface.

The pipe concepts takes the idea of simple drag-and-drop controls and applies it to the setup of audio transmission. Using the WebRemote is now easier, more intuitive and simply more fun than ever before. The pipe concepts also simplifies the display of multiple connections, allowing the user to conveniently monitor multiple connections at once in great detail. More...

The advantages of the WebRemote include:

1. Simple drag-and-drop controls. Creating and editing a pipe is quick, easy and intuitive.

2. Everything in one menu. Instead of navigating half a dozen menus and submenus to set up your connections, everything will be done from a single menu screen in just a few moments.

3. Monitoring multiple connections at once over a single screen. Errors and connection difficulties are displayed directly in the pipes, including tips for resolving any issues.

4. Naming and search functionality. Quickly find specific pipes and enjoy easier navigating and organizing of multiple connections.

5. Faster processing and better responsiveness. Better and faster set up, monitoring and control of your connections.

390 channels

OPUS, FLAC, AES67, ...

Dummy

MADI 192 is here. Now you are able to have 192 connections up and running at the same time, built into a machine fit to handle such a massive workload. No application is impossible now. The sheer number of codecs that can be replaced is staggering.

MADI stands for Multichannel Audio Digital Interface. Probably the greatest and most noteworthy aspect of MADI is the exceptionally high number of channels supported per line and MAYAH is taking full advantage of the possibilities offered by MADI. MAYAH was the first to use MADI in its CENTAURI IV 5000, offering 64 channels with it. Now we top even that with MADI 192.

OPUS, FLAC, AES67

the most modern audio coding formats

Protokolle

OPUS, FLAC, AES67 , AAC HE and all other available audio coding formats can be used for transmissions and also for simultaneous recording or converting. ANDROMEDA also supports use as answering machine, conference machine, logging and many other applications.

RTP, RTSP, SIP and other protocols are all supported as well. With AES67 the Andromeda is docking to Axia Livewire, Dante and Ravenna and offers plug and play compatibility.

OPUS: A hybrid audio coding format, flexible and adaptive.
AES67: IP Layer 3 driven, it offers highest quality and low latency.
FLAC: Mathematically lossless coding format
AAC HE: A globally accepted MPEG, excellent even at very low bitrates.
